刘晓, 澳大利亚斯威本科技大学博士，博士后研究员，墨尔本中国博士沙龙主席，2009年中国政府海外自费留学生奖学金获得者，2011年“春晖杯”中国留学人员创新创业大赛“春晖杯”获得者。刘晓于2004年和2007年在合肥工业大学管理学院先后获得信息管理和信息系统专业本科和硕士学位，2011年获得斯威本科技大学计算机科学和软件工程方向博士学位，导师杨耘教授。刘晓博士共发表30多篇学术文章，包括 IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, Journal of Systems and Software等国际知名学术期刊，以及由Morgan Kaufmann 和Springer 出版的两本与云工作流系统相关的专著。刘晓博士的研究兴趣包括工作流管理系统，科学工作流，商业工作流，云计算，以及服务质量。【xliu@swin.edu.au，http://www.ict.swin.edu.au/personal/xliu/】

报告摘要：

In this seminar, I will present an overview of the ongoing research related to cloud computing and cloud workflow in the NGSP (Next Generation Software Platform) group which is a part of the Center of SUCCESS (the top software engineering center in Australia) at Swinburne University of Technology.

Specifically, the two focused topics include “Performance Management in Scientific Workflows” which introduces a lifecycle temporal framework to guarantee the on-time completion of large scale scientific workflows, and “Data Management in Scientific Cloud Workflows” which presents the benchmark and a set of strategies to achieve the best “computation and storage trade-off” for the storage of large intermediate datasets in scientific clod workflows. I will also touch briefly on three other topics on “Security and Privacy Protection in the Cloud”，“Data Reliability Assurance in the Cloud”，and the “SwinDeW-C Cloud Workflow System” which is the cloud workflow system prototype being developed in the NGSP group.
