报告摘要： 

        In this talk, basic theories on conservation laws and symmetries of partial differential equations will be talked about. The bases are bi-Hamitonian pairs, Lax pairs and adjoint symmetries. Examples will be given to illustrate the presented theories. 
报告人简介：

       马文秀教授，1982年毕业于中国科技大学，1990年获中科院数学博士学位，1994—1996年在德国做汉堡学者，曾任英国Manchester大学、法国Montpelier大学、加拿大British Columbia大学、美国Minnesota大学等的访问学者，1997—2001任香港城市大学教授，现任美国南佛罗里达大学数学系终身教授、亚洲教职员工联合会主席，南佛罗里达坦帕湾地区华人协会副会长、通讯刊物的主编等职务。他的研究领域覆盖应用数学、数学物理、计算机符号计算等方向，特别是对孤立子与可积系统理论中对称、哈密尔顿结构和刘维尔可积性理论的发展作出了重要贡献。
