ECNU foreign expert Jean-Raymond Abrial Won the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award

The awarding ceremony of the 2016 National Science and Technology International Cooperation Award was held on January 9th, 2017 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The adjunct professor of the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering at East China Normal University, a famous French computer scientist, Jean-Raymond Abria won the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People's Republic of China. East China Normal University is the only institution in Shanghai with the award.

 

 

 

The International Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People's Republic of China was established in 1994. It is a state-level science and technology award established by the State Council. 

 

Prof. Jean-Raymond Abrial was the founder of the internationally renowned method for developing trusted software in the field of industrial control, and the creator of the “B Method” for safety-critical software development methods.

 

Prof. Abril also cooperated with East China Normal University and China Aerospace Science and Technology Group to formally verify the aerospace embedded operating system. The relevant operating system was applied to many satellites such as the Chang'e III. He cooperated with China Electronics Group and obtained the OSEK international certification after formal verification of the industrial control operating system and deployed it on 700,000 domestically produced vehicles.

 

Professor Abrial and East China Normal University jointly established the International Summer School of Trustworthy Software. He is also an expert of the “111 project” at ECNU.
